Our Commitment to Sustainable Sourcing
At Deacon Dining, we are dedicated to third-party sourcing. By partnering with South Mountain Creamery and Aldefer Farms through 4P Foods, we are committed to purchasing certified humane eggs exclusively for our dining halls. This shift from liquid eggs to whole eggs will:
- Increase our third-party verified spend: We aim for at least 30% third-party certified spend, aligning with our client KPIs.
- Support Sustainable Efforts: This change will help us further our sustainable efforts on campus.
- Reduce Manual Labor: The new machine will save us the labor of cracking approximately 39,600 eggs weekly across campus.
- Strengthen Collaborations: Eliminating liquid eggs will enhance our collaboration with 4P Food Hub and support local farmers in improving our food systems.
