Special Events on Campus

Memorable Experiences

Our dining team loves to create unique, memorable events for our guests on campus. Here are just a few examples of special events that we organize on campus each year.

Experience New Cuisines

Chef Take-Overs

We love to welcome local businesses into our dining halls so that our guests can experience great food that is right in our backyard. Look forward to seeing some of our local restaurants like the Porch, Alma, Silo, Canteen and Penny Path taking over the Pit grill several times each month.

Themed Meals

Deacs, I don't think we're at WFU anymore. From exciting themes like Harry Potter to Great Gatsby, you'll feel like you were swooped up in a tornado and set down in a culinary dreamland.

Global Foods Dining

The Wake Forest University Food Committee brings together WFU students, faculty and staff and Deacon Dining to share diverse cultural and religious holidays, celebrations and heritages as expressed through our foods. Follow our Instagram @DeaconDining to stay up to date with when these will take place!

Annual Events

Mark your calendar now for Pitsgiving! This annual event takes place the Thursday before Thanksgiving in the Pit. Our guests get to celebrate those you are thankful for with your WFU family and friends all day. We serve serve turkey legs, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and all of your other holiday favorites. We even have a Vegan and allgood station for our guests with dietary preferences and needs!

Farmer’s Series

Deacon Dining Culinary Chefs partner with local farmers, highlighting fresh, local ingredients in recipes. We are talking about local Brasstown Beef, Murrays Chicken, and Vernon Produce.

Local Product Tastings

Look for vendor sampling tables around campus during the semester and find some new and delicious products from vendors like Updog Kombucha, Gorilla Grains, MATI, Big Spoon and PS Snacks. Utilizing local vendors is a big part of who we are! We are so excited about our local vendors that we want to make sure you have the opportunity to taste what they have to offer.
