Chef Ron Stuhm Returns to Wake with Sushi Mastery and Culinary Flair

Wake was buzzing with excitement as Harvest Table’s Executive Chef, Ron Stuhm, returned for a multi-day culinary showcase that left guests in awe—and craving more. Known for his precision and artistry, Chef Ron brought the excitement (and the fish) to the International Grill station, where he broke down a massive yellowfin tuna right in the middle of lunch service.

Before joining Harvest Table, Chef Ron trained under the legendary Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, later opening two high-end sushi restaurants of his own. His visit to Wake was a tribute to his first restaurant, Zen Den, and he honored it in spectacular fashion.

As Chef Ron expertly dismantled the tuna, our dedicated dining staff rolled out fresh sushi for guests to enjoy on the spot. Once the fish was fully prepped, Chef Ron stepped out from behind the grill and set up a special table to teach the art of handrolls. Watching him slice, roll, and assemble with such ease was nothing short of mesmerizing.

This marks the second year Wake has hosted Chef Ron and his unforgettable tuna breakdown, and the tradition is quickly becoming a favorite. From the dazzling knife work to the delicious bites, it was a celebration of culinary excellence and community.

Did you get to try any of the fresh sushi? If not, here’s hoping Chef Ron returns next year—with another tuna and even more tricks up his sleeve.
