Exciting Dining Hall Renovations at Wake Forest University

⚒ Giving Dining a Facelift ⚒

As many of us said our goodbyes for the summer to visit family or embark on new post-graduation journeys, Deacon Dining was hard at work completing summer renovations. The updates included new signage, flooring, and even an entirely new dining option! We wanted to extend our thanks to all the students, staff, and faculty for their patience as we navigated these changes.

The Pit:

The most significant renovation project over the summer was at The Pit Dining Hall in Reynolda. It was completely closed for approximately five weeks while the old floors were replaced with brand-new tile. During this time, the Magnolia Room briefly opened its doors to accommodate the dining needs of the campus community, ensuring that everyone had a place to enjoy their meals while The Pit was being transformed.

North Dining:

North Dining Hall was also closed as renovations were completed downstairs. During The Pit’s closure, Hilltop Dining stepped in to serve the campus for a few weeks, providing a temporary dining solution. Now that The Pit has reopened, Hilltop will remain closed until closer to the beginning of the Fall Semester, when it will once again welcome students and staff.

Retail:

Einstein Bros Bagels and Subway both underwent intermittent closures throughout the summer to allow for their own renovations. These updates were part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the dining experience across campus. In addition, we were thrilled to introduce a new coffee spot, Proudly Pouring Peet’s Coffee, adding another exciting option for our coffee lovers on campus.

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful students, staff, and faculty for their understanding and patience during this period of renovation. These changes were made with the goal of improving the dining experience for everyone at Wake Forest University, and we are excited to continue serving the community with even better facilities and options.
